000032 - 03-24-06 (Updates Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
Welcome
Look for most updates to complete sometime in the afternoon. It seems that's how long it takes for the Coffee to work.
In case you missed it Fedora Core 5 is out. Go and download it. It's free as in beer.
3D Modeling
There is a very good thread over at Penny Arcade on 3D Modeling. It has tons of links to software, forums and reference material. Maybe I should design a 3D logo for TFW? Maybe later...
$199 PC
$199 for a new computer? It seems Compusa has a sale on a Compaq computer for only $199 (after rebate of course). More interesting is a full review of the computer over at Ars Technica.
This is why I love forums. They can have so much more detail and variety than front page news.
Tame Cables
A discussion with a link to a "how to guide" can be found at Hardwarelogic. Many power supplies now come with modular cables that have sleeves on them to help with cable management. For those that do not, this guide may prove helpful.
Deal of the Day
King Kong - Widescreen DVD $14.98!

AGP, Not Dead Yet?
It seems the Inq has the scoop on a 512MB 7800GT based AGP card. Although it seems like a limited edition from Gainward, which only sells cards in Europe. It does reason that other card companies could follow their lead.
Several members at the Hardforum have showed interest in the card, so I'm sure their is a market for it.
Poll - MP3 Bit Rate
Read through this thread at Anandtech to see what bit rate people prefer when creating MP3's. The higher bit rate the better the sound but the file is larger.
I converted my CD collection years ago when storage was limited for me. So I went with 160, which is just above the 128 standard.
