Linux: Fedora Core 5
Fedora Core 5 is out. Fedora is formerly based on the Red Hat distribution of Linux. It looks like the Fedora website may be moving to fedoraproject.org, so you might want to check that link out.
For help with installing or trouble shooting, check out fedoraforum.org. I'm using Fedora 4 right now and I downloaded the ISO's for 5 last night. Looks like I have something to do this weekend.
NVIDIA 7600GS & 7300LE
NVIDIA released a pair of new cards for the mid to low range. If you don't have $500 to spend on a video card and less than $130 is more your style you may want to give these two a look.
It seems NVIDIA tried to create a little hype for these cards by having a countdown on their webpage. Form this thread at Hardforum, it seems to have caused more confusion and or hope for yet another high end card.
1GB Video Card
ATI has announced a Video Card with 1GB of memory. The ATI FireGL V7350 is meant for professional applications.
Yes this is more memory than most computers have. The Rage3D forums have a thread with pictures and a link with a review.

Windows Vista Delayed Until 2007
Several websites are reporting that the consumer version of Windows Vista may not be released until January of 2007. Discuss your disappointment at Anandtech, among other places.
Well it looks like I will be building a "Vista Ready" machine this year with good ole XP on it. Hopefully they will at least get us a service pack before then.
